The act of communicating has never been easier than it is in today's modern day society.
In the olden days, you needed to physically travel to see someone, or if you were rich and could afford it, you could pen your thoughts and send them by fast horse. Now, email zips to my friends in Hong Kong or Australia in the blink of an eye. A phone call to my grandparents in the country and to a visitor downstairs in the mall are an everyday occurance. TV and radio bombard us with the medium-dependant message, and don't even get me started on the World Wide Web.
And yet, there is something to be said for the raw efficiency of face to face communication. How much more meaningful a conversation can you have in person versus over an instant messenger chat?

Connection is about life
A couple of quotes to consider together.
In nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else which is before it, beside it, under it and over it. ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, German playwright, poet and novelist, 1749-1832
a good friend is a connection to life- a tie to the past,a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world. ~ Lois Wyse, American advertising executive, author and columnist, 1926-2007
The more connections you and your lover make, not just between your bodies, but between your minds, your hearts, and your souls, the more you will strengthen the fabric of your relationship, and the more real moments you will experience together. ~ Barbara De Angelis, American researcher on relationships and personal growth
If you want to live longer, and feel better, the secret is to have more numerous, and deeper level connections. Be one of mine and I'll be one of yours, and we'll both live to see a new century.
